One of the things that has been fascinating to me while being here in Mexico are the colors. There are so many vivid colors that one would expect to experience a riotous clash of color instead I feel an apparent harmony. Many of the plants have interesting angles and textures of their own, yet visually things are so much more interesting when there is a strong contrast in color and texture. I found just that combination the other day when I was out walking and found this aloe plant growing against this vivid pink wall. The soft shadows against the wall enhance the angularĀ appearanceĀ of the aloe, while the green contrasts nicely with the magenta.
