I was sitting in the pool relaxing and chatting with my mom when a flock of wild parrots landed in the sour orange tree next to our wall. Not one parrot, 3 or 4 parrots were in this tree. We watched in utter amazement and silence as these crazy birds explained the constant mess of fruit underneath that tree. Oh yes, these birds were picking sour oranges and then “carefully” eating them and spitting out the seeds. If they dropped one (and they did frequently when a big gust of wind came up suddenly), they just picked another.
This particular flock flies over the house everyday, at least twice…morning and afternoon. I don’t know where they go everyday but they seem quite thrilled to be going there!
So, we’re sitting there in the pool and I’m bummed because of course, electronics and water DO NOT mix…and thus my camera is in the house. However, after an enjoyable period of watching them I decided to chance walking quietly and slowly into the house to grab my camera. I managed to get in and get back out without having everyone leave. This, despite accidentally banging the screen door on my way back out. I managed to get a few shots before they spooked and took off.
